Title: Leaving soon?
Post by: Knowingishalf on November 01, 2013, 08:56:16 PM
I just talked to my lawyer, and have to suffer another weekend with my wife.  I am afraid of her and all of her responses to the point that we decided that temp primary custody is important to file when I leave.  This set back my exit from today until Wednesday.

The period right before you leave tends to be pretty awful. Record everything. Listen to your instincts. You are feeling this way because you're taking care of yourself with someone who doesn't want you to... .

I ended up leaving a week before I had planned. If it gets dangerous, leave. Your lawyer will be able to help you sort it out later, especially if you have something to help document the escalation. But even if you don't have that documentation, do the safe thing first, and ask questions later.

Safety first. Legal stuff second.
