Title: Those divorced before?
Post by: Lady31 on November 12, 2013, 06:25:56 AM
Hey guys.  I am just curious.  For those of you divorced in the past - what is it like seeing/talking to that person now in your life?  Or do you at all?

Just wondering as marriage is such a serious thing, especially on the spiritual level.  I wonder how it has been for those that have healed from a divorce.  :)o you still feel a "special" tie to that person even once you are past it?

Kind of odd to me and hard to wrap my mind around that.  I'm 33, so I hope I do get married again.  Kind of sucks to think I will have to say, oh - that was my FIRST husband.  Or X is my second husband.

Pretty normal these days.  I found it funny how I got invited to a lot of weddings in my 20's and early 30's, and then in my 40's I got invited to a lot of divorce parties, and they were no less fun.  Many of my friends have remarried, much happier this time, and consider their first wife their "trainer wife."  Probably the same on the female side; live and learn.

But then there's a borderline.  My borderline ex had 4 kids with a guy she was married to for 10 years, and was never faithful to him for very long.  Pretty impressive when you think about it; raising 4 kids, plus 2 more from her first marriage, and still making time for flings.  Maybe that's what they call high-functioning.  Anyway, they got divorced, and she was a little shocked that it took her ex 7 years to move on and remarry.  I found it a little weird when she told me, but it makes perfect sense now; wonder how much therapy he needed and what he went through to heal.  I don't envy him.  And of course they have 4 kids together, so they need to have some communication.  I hope his new wife is nice to him.

I have been divorced since 05, my ex-wife and I are great friends. It took a LONG time to get this way, but we made it. I do not have any romantic feelings for her, she's like family.

Now my uBPD ex g/f, on the other hand, I just don't see how we could ever be close again. It's just one of those relationships that does not need to ever be revisited.
