Title: Question involving Projection
Post by: Waifed on November 24, 2013, 11:40:00 AM
So people with BPD (and I guess all people in general to an extent) typically use their partners to project their feelings to avoid shame, etc.  Could this mean that the feeling we are left with at the end of a relationship is the feeling that the pwBPD feels on a pretty regular basis?  It makes some sense to me because many feel like they have BPD at the end of a relationship.

Thoughts?

Do you think this is the same as fleas?

I certainly think I wasn't my usual self after the b/u. It was more than heartache. It was as if there was now pain where there was "me" before. Don't know if that makes sense. Maybe a BPD like feeling that has gradually gone away though. Healing?

From my understanding if you feel;

Worthless

Fearful

Frustrated

Betrayed

Engulfed

Controlled

Hollow

Fake

Angry

Desperate

Depressed

Unstable identity

A feeling of "disappearing"

Then yes you may have "fleas". If you don't feel ALL of the above consider yourself fortunate.

I am of the opinion if you are able to walk in another persons moccasins and see their world for what it is, eventually you are going to be okie dokie. You have what is called perspective and compassion.

For me to recover I try to not focus on and dwell in what is wrong about me but rather play to what is right about me.

Wow, I scored 100% on that list 3-1/2 months ago!  I am slowly marking items off of the list. I need to read up again on fleas.
