Title: Ego and BPD
Post by: BuildingFromScratch on December 03, 2013, 07:52:24 PM
They are stuck on stage two. I always had poor self esteem, which I'm sure represented a damaged ego and co-dependency. But I had a very complex and multifaceted way of understanding things before I met her. I was literally the most understanding person I knew. I just wasn't understanding enough with myself. This caused me problems in school, as I thought the system should be more adaptable to my fulfillment instead of the fulfillment of the expectations of others. Ironically in some ways I had a over-developed since of empathy and ego at a very young age. Which is why I struggled to understand and accept my exBPD gf for 12 years. She knocked me down to stage 3 in many ways... .I never could make sense of her until recently.
