Title: KEEP All the ex's papers Long after divorce Post by: crystal on December 18, 2013, 12:51:07 PM A word to the wise... .I am five years post divorce and still have legal dealings with my Ex over child-related stuff. This time its about child support. He has filed to pay NOTHING! And he is unemployed. So we are hiring an "employment expert" and I have been requested to provide all kinds of background info-- basically my Ex's school and employment history, etc. Would have been much easier to do if I had kept more of his old records that he left in the house--old resumes, etc. While I was careful to keep old financial stuff and all our legal stuff, I wish I had kept more of that junk.
Lessons learned: you are never legally done with an ExBPD until children are fully grown and independent. Keep all papers--you never know what you might need. Even the brick with her hand writing on it that says "Happy Birthday Daddy" with the date added that she had S9 give me for my birthday a few years ago. Yes, she actually had him give me a brick. When I S9 got home, he was clearly bothered by it a little, so got out some paints, and we decorated it together, which was photographed and documented as well. S9 was happy after making it look cool. |
