Title: KEEP All the ex's papers Long after divorce
Post by: crystal on December 18, 2013, 12:51:07 PM
A word to the wise... .I am five years post divorce and still have legal dealings with my Ex over child-related stuff. This time its about child support. He has filed to pay NOTHING!  And he is unemployed. So we are hiring an "employment expert" and I have been requested to provide all kinds of background info-- basically my Ex's school and employment history, etc.  Would have been much easier to do if I had kept more of his old records that he left in the house--old resumes, etc. While I was careful to keep old financial stuff and all our legal stuff, I wish I had kept more of that junk.

Lessons learned: you are never legally done with an ExBPD until children are fully grown and independent.

Keep all papers--you never know what you might need.

I keep everything.

Even the brick with her hand writing on it that says "Happy Birthday Daddy" with the date added that she had S9 give me for my birthday a few years ago.  Yes, she actually had him give me a brick.  When I S9 got home, he was clearly bothered by it a little, so got out some paints, and we decorated it together, which was photographed and documented as well.  S9 was happy after making it look cool.
