Title: Good Things Thread Post by: rumblelina on December 21, 2013, 08:09:56 AM I understand that especially with holidays here and in general, it is hard to stay cheery and positive, considering how hard it can all be. So I was thinking maybe we can have a thread where we talk about those things that our pwBPD has really improved, or shown in the past intention or improving or those things that we KNOW they're doing for our benefit even if it's hard for them. What makes you proud of your loved one with BPD? :) What gives you hope?
My uBPD friend has been having trouble with her mother for a few years now, a few days ago she remembered her mother's depression periods when she was younger, and she showed empathy and understanding. I'm so proud of her for this :) Now you tell me things! Title: Re: Good Things Thread Post by: Seneca on December 21, 2013, 12:38:45 PM My uBPDh does not know he has anything "wrong" upstairs, but I can report one good thing. He has an alcohol problem, and last night after 6 hours of hard drinking, he chose to walk home. This is HUGE, after 2 DWI convictions as a younger man, and me pleading with him for the last year to not drive the car because he might ruin our lives by getting caught, hurt, hurting/ killing someone else... .he actually did what I asked him to do, and *GASP* considered our family when making his decisions last night. It's a teeny triumph, but it's something. And I am proud of him. Not sure if I should congratulate that though... .because the getting smashed part, I also disapprove of... .lol
