For me, it is sad. I'm so sorry he chooses this path over getting therapy, recovery, and living a life with his family. ":)etachment leads to freedom" has been my mantra in my head lately. I've got to let go but it is so hard after almost 20 years, 2 kids. That's what happens when someone takes a smartphone to a bar; in the old days it would have been a drunk dial. You probably can't totally disconnect from him because you have kids, but those kinds of texts just made my ex look that much more ridiculous, so maybe that can help with detachment?
