Title: Some help on stopping circular and torturous thoughts...
Post by: love4meNOTu on January 04, 2014, 01:44:29 PM
Ok, learned two things that are helping me last week, want to pass along.

When an unwanted thought comes into your mind say this to yourself:

"Not right now"

Even if you have to say it every five seconds, say it out loud or in your mind.

IT WORKS!

It's non judgemental, so you aren't beating yourself up in your head without realizing it until you feel awful.

And the other piece of advice...

"Healing is painful"

So, if you are still hurting, that's ok, it's because you are healing.

:)

God bless,

L

Not so easy to do but very good advice. Ruminations are killing me.

I'm going to try this.

I have found the circular/torturous thoughts to be the hardest part of the breakup. If this works, it will really be a big help.

Thank you.
