last time I was NC (admittedly before i eventually got back into the frying pan), she sent me a text saying...

"C'mon why won't you play the game? I thought you had more balls than this?"

It always makes me wonder what mine would say to me now if/when she tries to return. It probably wouldn't be that far off of what you and others on here have experienced. "I'm sorry" or "Hey" would probably be the vanguard of words used in a re-engagement attempt.

I've gotten the "hey" before.

Single word, to the point... . I guess.

And when I didn't respond, I got what started this thread... .

And I guarantee she will want nothing, except to light into me again, and in the end say "I am your friend"

Or worse. I have feelings for you again, "I love you."

You might as well be getting text messages from an orangutan in the zoo, who's been lucky enough to procure himself a mobile phone for those lonely nights when the public have all gone home!

That is about as much credibility as these text messages have!

Yeah, I agree I would have to respond because curiosity would get the best of me.  I would hold back my anger. I wouldn't give her the satisfaction to know that I ever gave her a moment of thought since we stopped talking.

Followed by a text from her saying

"Ironman, That is exactly why I left, you obviously haven't changed!"

Maddening!

I always get this after the breakup:

"Hey" "Im sad" "I miss you" "You are not talking" "Quiet?"
