Title: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: kay62105 on January 17, 2014, 02:14:03 PM Being in a relationship with a person with BPD has made me pay more attention to detail on many different things and on many different levels.
One thing I noticed is how certain songs and certain lyrics affect me these days. Songs I've heard a million times and now they take on a completely new meaning for me or I finally understand what they are about/relate to them. Many, many different songs... . and so many of them I'm like, wait a second... . That sounds like me, that sounds like my relationship, that sounds like my boyfriend, that sounds like someone with BPD, that sounds like they met someone who has BPD... . Maybe I'm over-analyzing, or maybe it's that I just relate to things differently now. Has this happened to anyone else? What song(s) has changed to you? What song(s) do you relate to the most? Everything has changed Post by: In_n_Out on January 17, 2014, 11:09:41 PM Yeah, so working out tonight I had "Smashing Pumpkins" on my ipod. "Safe" music, or so I thought. This one came on and got me a bit emotional during the workout:
"This Time" www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB20yNfLH1g This time I need to know I really must be told If it's over It's up to you to know The things you want to hold Are in pieces Crashing down Crashing down again Crashing down Crashing down my friends I've got to move it on I've got to sing my song While I still can Dispatch the last alarms Hand out the last few charms There's no surprises Only love Only love can win Crashing down Crashing down again Only love Yeah only love will win Crashing down Crashing down again This time I need to know I really must be told That it's over I've lived my life alone My every step foretold To never linger And yet it haunts me so What are we letting go Our spell is broken Crashing down Crashing down my friends Crashing down Crashing down again Only love Yeah only love will Be enough Yeah only love will win For every chemical You trade a piece of your soul With no return And who you think you know Doesn't know you at all Their drain is needless Someday we'll wave hello And wish we'd never waved goodbye To this romance We'll drink up every line And shoot up every word Till there's no more Crashing down Crashing down my friends Only love Only love can win So cry these tears we'll cry as all We've held so long to fall apart As the curtain falls we bid you all goodnight And "Fix You" by Coldplay will bring me to tears every time: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY9b6jgbNyc Actually, anything from Coldplay will do it; that was her favorite and I discovered them through her. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: kay62105 on January 31, 2014, 08:12:53 AM The new song by John Legend hit home for me:
All of me: What would I do without your smart mouth Drawing me in, and you kicking me out You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down What's going on in that beautiful mind I'm on your magical mystery ride And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright My head's under water But I'm breathing fine You're crazy and I'm out of my mind 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh How many times do I have to tell you Even when you're crying you're beautiful too The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood You're my downfall, you're my muse My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you My head's under water But I'm breathing fine You're crazy and I'm out of my mind 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh Give me all of you Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts Risking it all, though it's hard 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: almosthadme on January 31, 2014, 10:29:45 AM "Wrecking Ball"... . Miley Cyrus One of the many songs my exBPDgf would post on social media directed at me. Here is my favorite "Vilify" by Device As you vilify, every single move that I make And try to bind me in your insanity You'll come to know That you never had control from the onset Go find another lap dog, facker Your need to clarify Every single word that I say Has left me wrestling with our disparity Leave me alone Take another wretched soul on the hell-ride Go find a more susceptible sucker I can't believe this is happening I don't wanna start over again A stone I keep falling over again, and again, and again When you vilify You begin to nullify, everything that we've ever done You're facking with my head As you vilify all I've ever given I don't wanna fall apart anymore I wanna end it right now When you vilify, I start to ponder every battle ever fought Every thought, imploding in my head If you vilify, it's a bitter pill that I will force you to devour Enough, why don't we end it right now? I've had my fill, and I think I've had enough. When you open your mouth, every word incenses me Don't wanna know, why your every waking moment Revolves around, criticizing every part of me Another bill, the number cannot be defined For the blood and the soul, that had to flow incessantly Fack you all And let every minute be a reminder of How you let it all come crashing down I can't believe this is happening I don't wanna start over again A stone I keep falling over again, and again, and again When you vilify You begin to nullify, everything that we've ever done You're facking with my head As you vilify all I've ever given I don't wanna fall apart anymore I wanna end it right now When you vilify, I start to ponder every battle ever fought Every thought, imploding in my head If you vilify, it's a bitter pill that I will force you to devour Enough, why don't we end it right now? And when you're broken, and bitter inside And reality sucks, because you know I'm right All over nothing, unforgiving inside Well doesn't it suck, just to know I'm right? When you vilify You begin to nullify, everything that we've ever done You're facking with my head As you vilify all I've ever given I don't wanna fall apart anymore I wanna end it right now When you vilify, I start to ponder every battle ever fought Every thought, imploding in my head If you vilify, it's a bitter pill that I will force you to devour Enough, why don't we end it right now? The more that we take The paler we get I can't remember what it is We try to forget The tile on the floor So cold it can sting In your eyes is a place Worth remembering For you to go and take this and smash it apart I've gone all this f@#%ing way To wind up back at Back at the start Hey, the closer we think we are Well it only got us so far Now you got anything left to show No no I didn't think so Hey, the sooner we realize We cover ourselves with lies But underneath we're not so tough And love is not enough Well it hides in the dark Like the withering vein We didn't give it a mouth So it cannot complain It never really had a chance We'd never really make it through I never think I'd believed I believed I could get better with you - Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails I listen to way too much NIN. In fact it is all I have listened to since my divorce. That was 5 years ago. Reznor strikes me as a NPD sort of a fellow and I am sure he has had many run ins with pwBPD. Many of his lyrics about relationships and women seem to point to that dynamic. Of course most people think of the Downward Spiral and it's core theme of depression, but it has such a deeper meaning to me now. Even though he has matured since his first album, he still deals with similar relationship issues in his latest album. The lyric about lies in this song speaks to me particularly because of the all the lies told to me by my gf in the beginning and then all the lies I told to myself to believe them. All those red-flag I chose to ignore or minimize. But in the end it makes me realize that we are both just broken people who need help. Title: Re: What Songs? Thank you for sharing and great song pick! I can't think about NIN without thinking about "closer" stupid radio, looks like I need to venture in a little further with them than I've dabbled. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: PaulaJeanne on February 05, 2014, 11:35:00 AM I just heard "Breaking the Habit" by Linkin Park. The song came out in 2003, the year before I separated from my nBPDH (only temporarily). I used to hear that song and PRAY that he would recognize himself in the lyrics.
Forget about it... . he only listens to Pink Floyd (Comfortably numb)... . Title: Re: What Songs? You're welcome! Just be careful. The stuff can drag you down depending on where you are at with things. Lately it has just been helping me reflect on things in a less negative way. Yeah, alot of people look at Closer as a frat boy party anthem, but if you look closely at the lyrics there is a much deeper meaning. The suicidal character of the album is in a great deal of pain and using sex as an escape while dragging the partner along for the ride. Definitely take a look at their other stuff if the sound appeals to you. You will see a lot of interesting things with your new BPD colored glasses *) Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: itsnotme567 on February 10, 2014, 07:31:04 AM Here is a song that's been I'm my head the last couple of weeks
Maybe trying to find the meaning in a song takes mind off of trying to figure out my wife "Its all over now baby blue" Bob Dylan You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast Yonder stands your orphan with his gun Crying like a fire in the sun Look out the saints are comin’ through And it’s all over now, Baby Blue The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense Take what you have gathered from coincidence The empty-handed painter from your streets Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets This sky, too, is folding under you And it’s all over now, Baby Blue All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home All your reindeer armies, are all going home The lover who just walked out your door Has taken all his blankets from the floor The carpet, too, is moving under you And it’s all over now, Baby Blue Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you The vagabond who’s rapping at your door Is standing in the clothes that you once wore Strike another match, go start anew And it’s all over now, Baby Blue Copyright © 1965 by Warner Bros. Lately, I've been thinking about how often music I hear speaks to me. It often seems to speak of my uBPDw, myself, or about our relationship. So I thought, maybe I should try posting something to this board. Imagine... . I've found that someone else already has. :-) So, I'll add something to contribute.
After 22 years of marriage to my uBPDw, this song about sums up where I feel right now... . "A Place for My Head" by Linkin Park www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBcOoW9QgH4 Lyrics: I watch how the moon sits in the sky on a dark night Shining with the light from the sun But the sun doesn't give the light to the moon assuming, The moon's gonna owe it one It makes me think of how you act to me You do favors then rapidly You just turn around and start asking me, About things that you want back from me I'm so sick of the tension Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I wanna be in another place I hate when you say you don't understand (You'll see it's not meant to be) I wanna be in the energy Not with the enemy A place for my head Maybe some day I'll be just like you and Step on people like you do Run away all the people I thought I knew I remember back then who you were You used to be calm used to be strong Used to be generous but you shouldve known That you'd wear out your welcome now you see how quiet it is all alone I'm so sick of the tension Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I'm so sick of the tension Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I wanna be in another place I hate when you say you don't understand (You'll see it's not meant to be) I wanna be in the energy Not with the enemy A place for my head You try to take the best of me, go away You try to take the best of me, go away You try to take the best of me, go away You try to take the best of me, GO AWAY YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST OF ME GO AWAY, YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST OF ME GO AWAY, YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST OF ME GO AWAY, YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST OF ME GO AWAY! I wanna be in another place I hate when you say you don't understand (You'll see it's not meant to be) I wanna be in the energy Not with the enemy A place for my head I'm so sick of the tension Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I'm so sick of the tension Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest ------- I'm interested to know what songs make an inpact on others in my situation. Today I found one of his CD's again, with a lyric that made me laugh, because it reminded me of my BPDbf :-)
You're just jealous of me cause you, you just can't do what I do So instead of just admitting it You walk around and say all kinds of really mean things about me, cause you're a meanie, a meanie But it's only because you're just really jealous of me Cause I'm what you want to be So you just look like an idiot when you say these mean things Cause it's too easy to see you're really just a big weenie, big weenie Not really mature, I know, but I laughed harder then I had in a large amount of time :-) Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: Cloudy Days on February 21, 2014, 09:17:42 AM Haha... . My Husband loves Eminem and he has a lot of music that mirrors BPD behavior, I think it's why my husband likes him so much. I actually watched a documentary on Eminem and I think his wife Kim was BPD or something like it. She played some mind games with him and was just kind of crazy.
His song Brain Damage is my husband's anthem, because he was told he has brain damage from someone beating him. But he relates to a lot of his songs. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: Kifazes on February 21, 2014, 02:04:26 PM Ha, mine likes Eminem too :-)

Everything has changed Post by: maxsterling on February 25, 2014, 12:06:13 PM My dBPDgf recently told me that she and her friend down the street came up with a dance for the Madonna song "Borderline" when she was a kid. :light: I also find it interesting that many of the movies and books she likes tend to revolve around troubled people.
Here's a song called "Three Peaches" by Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel. This song really affects me ever since I met my GF: So wake up run your lips across your fingers till you find Some scent of yourself that you can hold up high To remind yourself that you didn't die On a day that was so crappy whole and happy you're alive You're in the bathroom carving holiday designs into yourself Hoping no one will find you but they found you And they took you And you somehow survived So wake up and if the holidays don't hollow out your eyes Then press yourself against whatever You find to be beautiful and trembling with life Because I'm so happy you didn't die Title: Re: What Songs? I don't mind where you come from As long as you come to me I don't like illusions I can't see them clearly I don't care; no, I wouldn't dare To fix the twist in you You've shown me eventually What you'll do I don't mind I don't care As long as you're here Go ahead, tell me you'll leave again You'll just come back running Holding your scarred heart in hand It's all the same And I'll take you for who you are If you take me for everything Do it all over again It's all the same Hours slide, and days go by Till you decide to come And in between it always seems too long All of a sudden And I have the skill, yeah, I have the will To breathe you in while I can However long you stay Is all that I am I don't mind I don't care As long as you're here Go ahead, tell me you'll leave again You'll just come back running Holding your scarred heart in hand It's all the same And I'll take you for who you are If you take me for everything Do it all over again It's always the same Wrong or right Black or white If I close my eyes It's all the same In my life The compromise I close my eyes It's all the same Go ahead, say it - you're leaving You'll just come back running Holding your scarred heart in hand It's all the same And I'll take you for who you are If you take me for everything Do it all over again It's all the same Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: MyGreatEscape on March 12, 2014, 10:51:51 AM I've noticed that "Pink" and Katy Perry both have songs that sound a whole lot like BPD traits:
Pink, Just Give Me a Reason "Right from the start You were a thief, you stole my heart And I your willing victim I let you see the parts of me, that weren't all that pretty And with every touch you fixed them Now you've been talking in your sleep oh oh Things you never say to me oh oh Tell me that you've had enough Of our love, our love Just give me a reason, just a little bit's enough Just a second we're not broken just bent, and we can learn to love again It's in the stars, it's been written in the scars on our hearts We're not broken just bent, and we can learn to love again I'm sorry I don't understand Where all of this is coming from I thought that we were fine (Oh we had everything) Your head is running wild again My dear we still have everythin' And it's all in your mind (Yeah but this is happenin' You've been havin' real bad dreams oh oh You used to lie so close to me oh oh There's nothing more than empty sheets between our love, our love Oh our love, our love... . " And Katy Perry... . I think she's been with a few BPD people from her lyrics! Hot N Cold: "You're wrong when it's right It's black and it's white We fight, we break up We kiss, we make up You don't really want to stay, But you don't really want to go You're hot then you're cold You're yes then you're no You're in then you're out You're up then you're down Someone call the doctor Got a case of a love bi-polar Stuck on a roller coaster Can't get off this ride" And then Wide Awake: "Yeah, I was in the dark I was falling hard With an open heart I'm wide awake How did I read the stars so wrong? (I'm wide awake) And now it's clear to me That everything you see Ain't always what it seems I'm wide awake Yeah, I was dreaming for so long I wish I knew then What I know now Wouldn't dive in Wouldn't bow down Gravity hurts You made it so sweet Till I woke up on On the concrete Falling from cloud nine Crashing from the high I'm letting go tonight Yeah I'm falling from cloud nine Thunder rumbling Castles crumbling (I'm wide awake) I am trying to hold on (I'm wide awake) God knows that I tried Seeing the bright side (I'm wide awake) I'm not blind anymore" And then there's ROAR: "I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath Scared to rock the boat and make a mess So I sat quietly, agreed politely I guess that I forgot I had a choice I let you push me past the breaking point I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything You held me down, but I got up Already brushing off the dust You hear my voice, your hear that sound Like thunder, gonna shake your ground You held me down, but I got up Get ready cause I’ve had enough I see it all, I see it now I've got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me ROAR Louder, louder than a lion Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me ROAR Oh oh oh oh oh oh You’re gonna hear me roar" See... . even celebs with a bootyload of money, beauty and/or fame deal with crazies. Or they are the crazies, who knows. Either way, we are SO not alone in dealing with this people... . they are immortalized in pop culture forever... . Title: Re: What Songs? Billy Joel - She's Always a Woman To Me She can kill with a smile She can wound with her eyes She can ruin your faith with her casual lies And she only reveals what she wants you to see She hides like a child, But she's always a woman to me She can lead you to love She can take you or leave you She can ask for the truth But she'll never believe you And she'll take what you give her, as long as it's free Yeah, she steals like a thief But she's always a woman to me CHORUS: Oh--she takes care of herself She can wait if she wants She's ahead of her time Oh--and she never gives out And she never gives in She just changes her mind And she'll promise you more Than the Garden of Eden Then she'll carelessly cut you And laugh while you're bleedin' But she'll bring out the best And the worst you can be Blame it all on yourself Cause she's always a woman to me --Mhmm-- Bridge CHORUS: Oh--she takes care of herself She can wait if she wants She's ahead of her time Oh--and she never gives out And she never gives in She just changes her mind She is frequently kind And she's suddenly cruel She can do as she pleases She's nobody's fool And she can't be convicted She's earned her degree And the most she will do Is throw shadows at you But she's always a woman to me --Mhmm-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI3MwwWYC3Q (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI3MwwWYC3Q) Title: Re: What Songs? I agree, it stopped me in my tracks. The funny thing is my uBPDgf and I were making dinner when it came on and she turned it up and says "Oh my God! I love this song". All i could say was "ya, me too". Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: mywifecrazy on March 27, 2014, 02:00:45 PM mywifecrazy, I agree, it stopped me in my tracks. Well at least you're learning about BPD so there's a chance your relationship will survive? I didn't know anything about BPD until after My wife was caught in an affair. One of many it turns out. A very ugly divorce ensued and now she is so out of control that I'm raising my (2) sons myself. If I had known about BPD things might have been different. The girl I thought I knew never existed. Reminds me of a Led Zeppelin lyric from "Going To California": "Ride a White Mare on the Footsteps of Dawn, Trying to find a Women Who's never, never, never been Born". Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: Proud_Dad on March 27, 2014, 02:29:43 PM I have been listening to a lot of my old favorites lately and Led Zeppelin has always been toward the top of my list. Funny that you should mention "Going to California" as I heard it over the weekend... . it hit home more than it ever.
"Ride a White Mare on the Footsteps of Dawn, Trying to find a Women Who's never, never, never been Born". I got chills when I read your post. When I heard that line in the song I wanted to cry... . I guess my current situation has me looking for meaning and validation in music more. I love my uBPDgf dearly, but I often find myself dreaming about raising my boys (2 also) on my own. I know it would be difficult but at least I would not have to worry about BPD BS. However, she would never relinquish control of our children to me, not in a million years. The best I could even hope for is 50/50. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: Pecator on March 27, 2014, 08:12:03 PM Alright P' Daddy,
Now you just pissed me off! But first let me say how grateful I am that you revived this link. I would have never found it with out you bringing it up again! Music has always been so healing to me. I have had a hard emotional day. I started to rest by intellectual pursuits at a time when I know that was not the answer. I followed this thread. What a wonderful evening rediscovering songs I thought I knew and discovering new material that I will add to my collection. However (feigning anger) I spent the evening with this tread to see if anyone brought up a so obvious winner. A song we loved at first, but then grew tired of (in itself typical) Gotye-Somebody That I Used To Know It is the perfect, classic example… Until your post! I remember getting getting my first paper route at age 11. I joined one of those "Colombia House" get x albums for just a penny. After the onslaught of the first x albums, I received the first one I paid for myself. It was this very album. I can remember pulling out the album sleeve and saying to myself, "this is the ultimate cool!" I learned every note of that album. My love of music grew exponentially. Today, I have hundreds of thousands of songs from Bach to Eminem (and soon thanks to this thread "Buckcherry" on my computer at my beck 'n call. However, I still have that exact (almost 40 year-old) album on my shelf. I identified with this song before, but never knew it like I do now after your post. [I wonder if this may be a source of BJ's struggles today] You win! This is the quintessential song. But I hope this thread stays alive. Sharing music that heals can be as important as sharing thoughts that heal Title: Re: What Songs? "Long Cold Day" sung by Fish "One" sung by Bono (U2) These songs won't make you sad. They'll help you vent. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: mywifecrazy on March 27, 2014, 09:34:28 PM WOW another Zeppelin Song!
Dazed and Confused Been Dazed and Confused for so long it's not true. Wanted a woman, never bargained for you. Lots of people talkin', few of them know Soul of a woman was created below. You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies. Run around sweet baby, Lord how you hypnotize. Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been. Gonna love you baby, here I come again. Every day I work so hard, bringin' home my hard earned pay Try to love you baby, but you push me away. Don't know where you're goin', only know just where you've been, Sweet little baby, I want you again. Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true. Wanted a woman, never bargained for you. Take it easy baby, let them say what they will. Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill? Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: Proud_Dad on March 28, 2014, 12:11:41 PM Pecator,
I am with you in the connection to emotional music. This type of song never hit me like they have lately. I have always loved music as well and have a very vast collection from classical to bluegrass, from big band to emerging 80's punk, and everything in between. Before my relationship with my pwBPD I always connected to the energy of the music and the place it took me. I have recently found myself scrutinizing lyrics in an attempt to find solace in the shared experiences and trauma. This has allowed me an additional outlet for my frustration in my r/s with my uBPDgf and I can take my enjoyment of music to another level. I am an engineer by trade (not conducive to BPD r/s btw) and these outlets are much needed by the end of a long day, and allow my uBPDgf and I to connect on neutral ground. I hope I didn't ruin this song for you by pointing out my perception of BPD behavior in Bill's lyrics. I have always loved this song, now I feel like I owe Bill a beer. mywifecrazy, Any song by Zeppelin is welcome on my playlist at any time of day. Again, I have always connected to ":)azed and Confused" and never understood why until my current r/s. KEEP 'EM COMIN! Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: mywifecrazy on March 28, 2014, 07:28:30 PM Heartbreaker-Led Zeppelin
Well, it's been ten years and maybe more since I first set eyes on you. The best years of my life gone by, here I am alone and blue. Some people cry and some people die by the wicked ways of love; But I'll just keep on rollin' along with the grace from the Lord above. People talkin' all around 'bout the way you left me flat, I don't care what the people say, I know where their jive is at. One thing I do have on my mind, if you can clarify please do, It's the way you call me another guy's name when I try to make love to you. I try to make love but it ain't no use. Give it to me Give it Work so hard I couldn't unwind, get some money saved; Abuse my love a thousand times, however hard I tried. Heartbreaker, your time has come, can't take your evil way; Go away, Heartbreaker. Heartbreaker! Heartbreaker! Heart! Title: Re: What Songs? Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: supernurse on April 01, 2014, 10:24:00 AM "Cold" and "She's So Mean" by Matchbox 20:
"Cold" I will do without The spaces in between If you can tell me now What it means to be You have been found out I have been deceived By the one that I need Tell me why you gotta be so cold How'd you get so high Why you're keeping me low You dont know, you don't know Tell me how we're gonna make it last You're ready to fly I'm ready to crash Don't go, don't go, no You will go without A better part of me There will be no doubt What this all could mean You will be found out I can not believe In the one that I need Tell me why you gotta be so cold How'd you get so high Why you're keeping me low You don't know, you don't know, don't know And tell me how we're gonna make it last You're ready to fly I'm ready to crash Don't go, don't go away "She's So Mean" I kn-kn-know a girl, she gets what she wants all the time 'Cause she's fine But for an angel, she's a hot hot mess Make you so blind But you don't mind 'Cause she's an uptown, get-around, anything-goes girl, girl She's a hardcore, candy-store, gimme-some-more girl, girl She'll make you take her to the club, but then she leaves with her friends She likes to stay late at the party, 'cause the fun never ends And all her clothes are on the floor and all your records are scratched She's like a one-way ticket 'cause you can't come back! Saying yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) Yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) You kn-kn-know that if you don’t shut your mouth, she’ll freak out You better get your hit together, ‘cause she’s bringing you down now Yeah boy you better, you better 'Cause she's an uptown, get-around, anything-goes girl, girl She's a hardcore, candy-store, gimme-some-more girl, girl She’s got her wicked sense of humor, can’t believe what she says She drinks Bacardi in the morning ‘til it goes to her head And all you want is just to hold her, but she don’t go for that She has a hard time coming when she can’t hit back Saying yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) Yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) Every now and then, she makes you just a little bit crazy She’ll turn a knife into your back and then she’s calling you baby, crazy She'll make you take her to the club, but then she leaves with her friends She likes to stay late at the party, 'cause the fun never ends And all her clothes are on the floor and all your records are scratched She's like a one-way ticket 'cause you can't come back! Saying yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) Yeah... . you want her, but she's so mean (You’ll never let her go. Why don’t you let her go?) Replace you (acoustic) by silverstein and My Herioine (acoustic) by silverstein. replace you talks about someone destroying his life. best part is when he talks about repeating the cycle, the same mistakes we've always made my heroine is comparing her to a drug. I happen to like the acoustic versions. Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: eyvindr on December 28, 2014, 07:50:48 PM New one I just heard from a guy named Parker Millsap -- "The Villain." (https://www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/Parker-Millsap-2/The-Villain#)
Excerpt I don't wanna be The villain in your dreams any more I don't wanna be The reason you lose sleep anymore I don't wanna be the one That locks the door and loads the gun and pulls the trigger 'til you wake up sore I don't wanna be The villain in your dreams anymore I don't wanna be the one that lets you down anymore I don't wanna be The gravity the ground anymore I don't wanna be the man that lifts you up and helps you stand then holds you high and drops you to the floor I don't wanna be The one that lets you down anymore I don't wanna be The one that holds you back anymore I don't wanna be The missing piece of track anymore I don't wanna be the guy that straps you to a railroad tie and listens for the rumble and the roar I don't wanna be the villain in your dreams anymore Interesting how it can be interpreted from both sides, too. Could be an abuser's prayer for redemption or a partner/friend/family member's response to being repeatedly painted black. Either way, worth a listen (https://www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/Parker-Millsap-2/The-Villain#). Title: Re: What Songs? Everything has changed Post by: hope2727 on December 28, 2014, 08:12:05 PM The new song by John Legend hit home for me: All of me: What would I do without your smart mouth Drawing me in, and you kicking me out You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down What's going on in that beautiful mind I'm on your magical mystery ride And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright My head's under water But I'm breathing fine You're crazy and I'm out of my mind 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh How many times do I have to tell you Even when you're crying you're beautiful too The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood You're my downfall, you're my muse My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you My head's under water But I'm breathing fine You're crazy and I'm out of my mind 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh Give me all of you Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts Risking it all, though it's hard 'Cause all of me Loves all of you Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections Give your all to me I'll give my all to you You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you I give you all of me And you give me all of you, oh I love this song. My ex once texted me the whole song. I suspect it was how we both felt about one another. I know its how i feel about him. Title: Re: What Songs? I get drunk on jealousy But you'll come back each time you leave Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream Source: www.directlyrics.com/taylor-swift-blank-spaces-lyrics.html When gf is in one of her withdrawals, there are 3 songs she plays over and over again.
