Title: Still going strong. Post by: Googie on January 18, 2014, 04:24:28 PM My DD16 is still doing very well despite being hospitalized and waiting on another placement that is set to take place on 2/7. I will be picking her up for a two night pass and then her team may just discharge her to my care until the 7th.
i just got a certified letter stating that her hospital re-certification has been denied so I am assuming they will have to discharge her home. I just want to give some good news and share that I truly never thought that we would ever see the progress that we have witnessed with my DD during the last year on a consistent basis. We have always told her that we believed in her and always let her know that no one can work harder than her to make her life better... . that she had to make a choice to do the hard work herself or things would stay the same without the chance to ever experience how happy her life could be. It was an extremely difficult 3 years of constant hospitalizations and chaos but I can honestly say that she has grasped the natural consequences of all the hard work she has put into learning new coping skills and techniques to help her through the rough spots. She knows there will days where we will have a few steps backwards but that she can shrug it off and choose to start over whenever she decides to begin taking charge of her life, both good or bad.
