Title: My dad reached out after 3 weeks nc with him and BPD mother
Post by: blake1974 on January 20, 2014, 08:03:21 PM
He just wanted to make sure he knew he loved me although he wasn't ready to talk about the attack on me from my mother that started all this. He also said things are still really bad with her and he doesn't know how to fix it. I guess it's a start but I don't have much hope that she'll ever see things clearly, which sucks because she's missing out on seeing her 3 yo grandchild too.

Hi blake1974,

It sounds like things are difficult for your father, and I can understand how his call may have been a little surprising, or at the very least, bring on a range of emotions. How are you doing after the call? How did you leave things with your father?

it is not easy for us children of a pwBPD but it is also not easy for the non parent (even when divorced). On the one side they enable, may have acquired own dysfunctions dealing with the daily drama. On the other hand they are suffering too. Is you father in therapy? Would he consider it?
