Title: Oops
Post by: Wanna Move On on February 04, 2014, 05:05:11 PM
Hello, Board:

Yesterday, I mused about the likelihood of single BPDf's (specifically those who desperately desire marriage, NOW!) becoming "accidentally" pregnant -- and then using that as emotional leverage to blindside the potentially vulnerable father-to-be (while he is undoubtedly reeling in the throes of emotion!) to manipulatively secure a rush-rush marriage.

Well, in reading online, I found out there actually IS a term in BPD psychology circles used to describe that exact situation: "Oops!" (As in being "Oopsed!" by the female; as in the female "Oopsing!" the male.)

Apparently, the above scenario is SO COMMON AN OCCURRENCE that a colloquial name has been given to it!

How utterly diabolical!

Pardon my naivety. Oops!

Nothing stopping people from wearing a condom.  It can take the oops factor out of it.

Or not having sex when we notice a desperate need like this that we aren't comfortable with.
