Title: Power of these Boards
Post by: PaulaJeanne on February 07, 2014, 11:56:05 PM
Maybe I'm a little overly weepy tonight, but there were some responses to an issue I was dealing with that made me feel, for the first time ever, that I was heard. I can't thank this community enough. We are not alone, and together we find strength.

I hear you Paulaj

Its nice to be finally heard and validated isnt it. This board particularly has been a godsend to me and has helped me through some very tough times too.

PaulaJeanne, I feel the same way. What a wonderful thing it is, to step out of our days/lives (which can be very stressful and confusing to say the least) and communicate with others who walk this path too and are willing to share their experience. I went from being ignorant ( didn't know my wife was sick, just thought she was overly emotional and mean spirited frequently). After reading SWOE I understood the situation , which was quite a relief. However, the sharing that is offered on this site has helped me to live more lovingly,  effectively, and successfully, with my uBPDw... . more of the time. And that's huge progress for us. THEO

At BPDF we do try to take care of each other because we share so many experiences relating to BPD, and it is wonderful to know that you have found comfort and understanding here. They are two of the main goals we strive to reach along with providing advice and compassionate support.

We will never be alone in our struggles with BPD as long as we have this site and the caring people who belong to it and oversee it.  It is a refuge in a storm of chaos.  That is a fact.

There definitely IS strength in numbers.  Thank you so much for joining our family.

PS... . and we all have weepy days.  It is ok.

Yes, we all definitively have those weepy days, don't we? I am glad you have found this site helpful, I know I have. It's the only place where I feel understood because you guys go through such similar experiences. Big hugs to you

I am so glad you got help and support when you needed it. This board has helped me so many times and I really don't know where I would be without the support.

It is comforting isn't it, to have others who understand exactly what we are living?

I know what you mean - and it also makes me understand how good it must feel for our pwBPD when we hear and validate them. Extra incentive to practise validation even when steam is coming out of my ears!
