Title: Off to meet with the psychiatrist
Post by: peppersnap on February 19, 2014, 03:33:46 AM
Hi all

Further to my previous post about the weird behaviour of my D16's Psychiatrist, I have requested a referral to someone else.

The team has asked me to come in 'to discuss my worries'. I have a strong feeling they are going to try to convince me that D16 is using this as a blind because she finds treatment uncomfortable and is 'splitting'. However, as I've witnessed his behaviour several times in person I know this is not the case.

I'm determined to hold firm. But I am a bit nervous. Off now to get the bus.

You probably won't see this until you get home but keep calm, hold firm and let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Thank you lever!

Well he didn't show... . d16's therapist was there so I explained my concerns. She was keen to set up another meeting with the P and I said I would meet with him to give him feedback on his demeanor but him continuing to treat D16 is absolutely off the table.

They have a bit of a situation as of their other two P's, one is retiring and the other is about to go on maternity leave. But there is another guy at the other young people's team whom she described as 'really great to work with' and who might agree to meet with D16.

She didn't sound too surprised about the P - wonder if I'm not the first to have complained? I've also picked up an official complaint form, as I think there should be an official record of his attitude.

too bad about the broken appt, but very good news that you're insisting on the switch.

Pepper

Was there any reason given for his not showing up?  I wonder if he may be on to what is happening and just decided to bail.

I think he needs a psychiatrist!
