Well, … here I am. Back in my house with my kids.

Years ago (when wife was 'normal' & kids were way pre-teen) , I remember going to Costco (so many times) and buying a package of remote phones (you know, the Uniden or Panasonic brand) that were usually a base station and say, five remote phones.

Over the last ten or fifteen years, ... I had purchased one of these Pansonic (or Uniden) phone package at least  five times. That means at least twenty five remote phones and five base stations. Two of these packages were the type where the handheld remotes had multicoloured faces (blue, white, silver, red and black).

When I got back into my house (court ordered for my wife to vacate) there was four broken base stations (hidden in junk drawers, the garage etc) and many broken remote phones.

I was able to make ONE base station work (Uniden) with only one surviving remote phone.

To me this was soo funny. As if God said to me, … "here, … remember these? I thou-est leave you with one base station and one remote. …. use it wisely, … no throwing them"  And I would say back to the Divine One... . "but there are no longer any BPD's in my house…. there will be no throwing anymore"

With me it was keyboards and mice that were so memorable.  Missing keys, cut cords.  I built a computer for our then-preschooler and in one rage she threw it into the garage and it had to be junked since it didn't land flat and so it 'leaned'.

I only recall a telephone handset getting boken on the day I called the police, doesn't mean she didn't break them, I just don't recall and I'm not anxious to.  However, besides throwing and cutting and swinging, she was a good kicker and slammer.  The master bedroom has a hole in the wall where the bedroom door punched through fom an especially hard kick.  The master bathroom closet door was kicked so hard it has some dents in it.

After she was gone things stopped getting broken.  Some things still get lost but that's a different - and normal - issue.

ForeverDad, ... . what are your thoughts about after the BPD is gone? Without a "target" or a victim to torment, ... the throwing of items and yelling/screaming must cease altogether,... . yes?

My wife has had to leave the house and now she is presumably in a condo unit (that perhaps her mom and dad paid for), ... . I just can't see her booting holes in the wall or doors like she used to without an audience.

From what I've seen, pwBPD don't do well alone and will seek out a new audience.

The phone breaking experience in the case of my step kid's BPD mom that I know of is when, according to the kids, she picked up the little cell phone the kids were supposed to be able to call their dad on and threw it on the kitchen floor and stomped on it.

I have always thought of kicking holes in a door or wall, … or smashing remote phones, or slamming doors as so infantile.   Here comes another analogy: this is exactly like the behaviour of a toddler who is lectured (by a parent) in the shopping cart that there will be no Oreo cookies purchases today. And then let the kicking and ranting commence.
