Title: It Sure is Quiet Here Now
Post by: DazedButNotConfused on April 02, 2014, 09:19:07 AM
In my previous post, you read about the ultimate meltdown that occured at my home a couple of days ago.

Since then, the Crisis Screeners have put my dBPDh onn a 72 hour hold. That was a good thing. They have not, however, found him a bed at anywhere that can do what is supposed to happen during that 72 hours (observation, testing, etc) and so he has spent this entire time in the emergency room sedated to the point of drooling.

Because of NJ State law, they can only hold him for 72 hours unless psych determines that he is still a danger to self and others - something that the will not see with him so heavily sedated.

Tomorrow, I am going for a temp restraining order. I am very afraid that since they have basically washed their hands of this at the ER, he will be released once the 72 hours are up.

I have mixed feelings about this. I need the protection ... . but once I put this into place, there will be no one to advicate for him in this area as his family is 1800 miles away.

The peace in the house is so very welcomed  -  wish I could get some peace in my mind as well.
