Title: Growing thanks to BPD Family
Post by: mywifecrazy on April 10, 2014, 11:59:16 AM
I want to take the time to thank everyone associated with this site (BPD FAMILY) and everyone who posts and replies on here. Your stories and reactions to other people's stories has been a blessing to me.

When I first started posting on these boards I was in a really bad place. I was in a state of depression the hurt and pain and emotions I were experiencing were very Raw.  All I wanted to do was to lash out at my uBPDxw for all the hurt and pain she had inflicted on me and my sons. Just look at some of my posts and you'll get the picture!

Now that I have learned more about BPD i've come to a place and a realization that there never was anything I could have done nor is there anything in the present and future that I could do to help my ex-wife.  Even though she still does crazy things that hurt me and my sons I know the best way to handle it is to not take it personally but to understand where it comes from.

She like most other pwBPD she has has painted me black and has moved on to a new relationship that she uses to try and soothe herself. On the surface it may look like she is happy now that she is with someone but through my knowledge of BPD thanks to these boards I know that she is still a tortured and troubled soul. I wouldn't trade places with her for any amount of money!

And now I know I must move forward in my life and focus on myself and my sons. And when she tries to real me back in with her sad stories I must turn the other cheek and walk away as I know there is nothing that I can do for her. I guess the only thing I can do for her now is to pray for her that she gets the professional help she really needs.

Again thank you for everyone on these boards for your courage and strength for telling your stories. And if you're new on these boards and feel like you're in a really bad place and can't go on just keep educating yourself to what BPD is truly all about and you will get through it and get to that happy place that you deserve to be... . Peace to All

MWC.

So glad to that you've come to a personal resolution on your wife. It sounds very healthy.

My favourite was your posts on the mathematics of BPD relationships  :)

Yes. I am doing well.

I've had alot of personal awareness and growth the last 12 months.

And I've gone back into the relationship.  With eyes wide open. I take it day by day and try not to think about the future of it. There are small successes here and there, and I will not EVER AGAIN be abused. So my boundaries have held up well.

I'm attempting the improbable.  Detaching whilst still in the relationship. It works some days.
