Title: Demi Lovato talks about cutting, etc
Post by: whiletheseasonspass on April 15, 2014, 07:03:25 AM
Maybe this is just new to me about Demi Lovato.  But I thought I'd post it.

I found this article about Demi Lovato who sang for an hour (I think it was on a radio and was free) where part way through she talked about how to keep on keeping on working at getting better on even though one might have self-harming tendencies.  She referenced her self-cutting and eating disorder.

What was surprising to me were the comments that followed.  If you go to https://music.yahoo.com/blogs/music-news/demi-lovato-delivers-heartfelt-message-at-iheartradio-concert-050832370.html

and scroll to comments you'll see.  They sounded like "immature" people.  At any rate - The first one I read said "I don't know why there are so many mean comments here"... . so determining that I was in the middle of the comment flow I clicked "oldest" (comments) and there are such insensitive comments.  I only read a few... . but how brave she is and how fortunate she is to be overcoming her issues. And how fortunate for her loved ones.

I've known about her past. She is an inspiration to both my DD and me.

My DD really admires her!  She has also written a devotional type book for teens and young adults to encourage and support them in their healing!  It is well written and though she professes to be a Christian, she has made sure the book will appeal to young people of any religion, or no religion!
