Title: Do They Stop Cheating When They Grow Older?
Post by: Willingtolearn on May 11, 2014, 02:24:32 PM
A question that often comes to mind is, when pwBPD grow older do they "calm down" and stop cheating?  For instance would they still cheat on their partner when they are in their 60's for instance?

If this is in regards to an ex partner.

Take a look in the mirror. That is the person you need to focus on.

Hello willingtolearn.   I'm not sure there's a clinical answer (and, if there was, I'm not qualified to give it); that said, I think there's a range of experience for everyone.

What prompts the question?  Is it a sense of hope?  Or another feeling?

The question was posed in the context of " Do they get any better or more stable when they grow older"

I have read that BPD without proper treatment can be a life long condition. I find the condition that is BPD most confusing to say the least.

Where are you in the stages of detachment?

I think they only stop when no one will have them. I've read that as they become less desirable they focus more on patriarchal and maternal roles and abuse their kids. My exBPD had the sort of mother (apparently) that used to control her and vet her friends. Of course all BPDs have evil mothers.
