Title: THOUGHTS ON SCHEMA THERAPY
Post by: Reforming on June 26, 2014, 06:07:03 AM
It'll two years in September since I separated from UxBPDgf after almost 16 years together.

Over the last year and a half I've been trying to process what happened and understand my part in the relationship

I'm working to understand my FOO issues, my childhood and become more self aware of my own behavioural patterns and what drives them.

In the months leading up to and after the separation I worked with CBT therapist.

And towards the end of last year I started seeing a schema therapist. I've read most of Reinventing Your Life by Jeffrey Young and I do feel like I was making progress though I wasn't convinced I was with the right therapist

As many here know very well it's a slow, difficult process and at times I feel like I'm making no headway but I recognise that unless I persist I'll never come out the other side

I was working abroad for the first three months of this year so I put my therapy on hold but I'm thinking of going back to schema - albeit with a different therapist

I would be really interested to hear of any other members experience with Schema

Thanks in advance
