Title: RTC again - recommendations Post by: jek1227 on July 13, 2014, 08:36:03 AM My 17 year old daughter is back in the hospital after cutting her wrists.
Please let me know of any recommended DBT based RTC's and or ones to avoid. We live in North Carolina. We have been through 3-previous treatment centers: 1) Rogers memorial - she developed an eating disorder while at a therapeutic boarding school. Unfortunately we could not afford but 2=months of treatment 2) the Villages in Tennessee ( we received medicaid for this treatment as my daughter had overdosed and was in-patient) This was not a good experience for my daughter. 3) Eliada - NC: this was a great place and only accessible with medicaid. Daughter made good progress there thanks to its DBT focus. ( This is when her BPD was addressed) My daughter has not had a very stable relationship with her mom ( we are divorced) and has often split us in the past. Mom would feel guilt about daughter's plight and has rescued daughter ending her RTC stays early only to then abandon daughter to me. ( i finally see these patterns and intend to keep everyone on same path. Mom is suspected of being BPD herself) Daughter has been in-patient 3-times this year and my insurance is now offering to pay for RTC. I am beginning the process for the 5045 medicaid and likely will apply for disability for my daughter. ( she has not attended school regularly since the 6th grade) Doctors have recommended the following in Utah - Sunrise and New Haven. Thank you for your consideration and I hold all of our loved ones who suffer from this disorder in my prayers. I am sorry your dd is struggling so much but you seem to have a good plan going forward. Falcon's Ranch in Utah is also a good program and there are a few here that have sent their kids. I have talked to the people there a few times as well and filled out paperwork for my dd17. There is a link to the right side of the page you should look at... .it talks about RTC and it mentions a few there. Good luck with your search. hang in there |
