Title: How long do the angry periods last in your pwBPD?
Post by: momtara on July 20, 2014, 09:12:44 PM
Mine would go on for 3 days, then like that, they'd just stop.  Of course, triggers started them.  I got it to the point when I could go three weeks without an upset, as long as I walked on eggshells.  But three weeks was about the limit - then he'd be set off by something.

People have told me that BPD sufferers have their raging periods for an hour or a few hours, but it seems reasonable that it can last days.

I counted one time 2 weeks or relative calm in a 6 month period with the person I dated.  In our rocky 5 years on and off that's probably the longest we dated and the most tumultuous time.  Eventually I got to the point of feeling pushed away so much that I would leave, until I missed her badly and sought to reconcile.

I don't know that I ever tried to measure how long the anger would last.  It could be anger or silent treatment, or just really mean behavior.  I've certainly seen it last longer than a day.
