Title: Daughter called and it was all bull
Post by: manicmuse on July 22, 2014, 05:37:15 PM
So I have custody of the grandchildren. She called today to tell me she's going to "meetings". She said she has a job. But it's with this MLM SCHEME COMPANY do she gas no income lol. And she said she filed for a divorce from her hubby. Who she let abuse the kids.

So on FB HUbby posts pics in a suit and us being congratulated on him m his wife's new "careers in money management. They both have rap sheets as long as my arms.

When I asked her when she filed for divorce no answer. Asked what therapist she's seeing no answer.

Now I'm supposed to take the kids to see her supervised in a park. But I'm afraid and so are my friends. She can and has accused me if things in the past. What if she has me arrested?  She'd gave no problem making up anything I really don't know what to do.

Do you have to do this contact legally?

I don't know the law where you are but here in the UK you can ask for contact to be in a contact centre supervised by employed staff. Would that be possible where you live?

The idea of taking them to a park informally sounds very risky, especially as you have been threatened by them in the past.

I would seek legal advice and see if contact can initially be supervised by someone independent.

I hope the children are settling with you. How do they feel about seeing their Mum?

They Love their Mom but don't want to be where she is, surrounded by friends on drugs and parties all the time.

I think it would be healthy to see her and know she's ok they are ok with seeing her not excited but ok.

It's court ordered supervised visits once a week. I'm going to call the court today about it.

Not going today just too much can happen.

My SIL said even her drug friends could do anything. He's right.

Do you have custody through a child protective case or did you go to court yourselves?  I don't know much about if you did it yourself, but if it is a child protective placement, I have been through that.  Child services has to provide supervision for visits.  I supervised my daughters visits with my grandsons because I was comfortable with it but I refused to supervise my grandson's visit's with his father.  SO they had to be at the DHHS office supervised by staff.  This may not help you if you don't have that kind of case, but if you do, contact your case worker and tell them you are not comfortable supervising the visits.
