Title: leaving town for a week, wish me luck
Post by: SeaSprite on July 22, 2014, 07:44:00 PM
I'm taking a trip by myself to visit some old friends, it's been 30 years and one has heart trouble so I do not want to put off a visit any longer! |iiii

I'm worried about leaving my uBPD D16, she won't be alone, she'll stay with her dad and maybe her grandma, and she usually is drama free with them.  *)

And yet, I wouldn't be surprised if there was drama while I'm gone. And since with her, drama takes the form of self-harm/ suicidal ideation, it's scary for me. When she's upset with me, it's frustrating but I can handle it. But then when the drama leads to her hurting herself... .it gets scary quick.

Someday maybe I can plan a trip or event without worrying about what crisis we'll have.

I'm proud of you for making the decision to see your friends. In the long run you will be so glad you did and not have the regret of not having gone, should anything happen to them.

Best wishes and I hope and pray your daughter stays safe from her disorder while you are away.

Dear SeaWalker,

I know exactly how you feel.  Sometimes, I can't even be gone for a lunch date with a friend without a drama-fest from DD.  But, it sounds like you're leaving her in the best of care with her dad and grandma there.

Enjoy your trip!  You deserve it.  Let us know how it went.
