Title: There's a Dilbert for everything.
Post by: Mono No Aware on August 21, 2014, 11:36:37 AM
Does the behavior of Dilbert's lady coworker sound familiar?

The "inferences" I get are well beyond this level. Yesterday's rant from my beloved uBPDw was about how if I am positive in the slightest about my mom's career (based on offhand comments I made years ago... .) then of course it follows that I must despise uBPDw's lack of career.

Anybody else get these "uniquely BPD-logic" conversations?

 :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)  lol

In all honesty I have to admit that I myself can reason like this as well. So, I don't think they're so BPD unique... but yes I am aware of me talking positively about other people's accomplishments, or, talking negatively about them yet in my dBPDbf's eyes they are still higher than his own achievements, and it will turn him sad, as I must think he is a basket case. Have learnt today in therapy that that is absolutely not my responsibility and I should learn to bear the guilt. Not easy at first, but the same applies for us as to the people wanting to get to Carnegie Hall: practice practice practice :).

Great Dilbert, definitely reminds me of BPD. We can all feel a jealous when someone else get's a compliment based on our insecurities, the pwBPD's lack of sense of self and emotional dysregulation elevates it to another level.

My uBPDw took it as an insult when I told my brother about a book I recently read... .Seems I cared more about what the (female) author thought than she did... .

Well, clearly Isitherorisitme can no longer read anything by female authors; remember to check the gender of newspaper articles too!

Don't forget books by male authors... .but the primary character is female... .
