Title: And on the ninth day...
Post by: JonnyKrunch on September 25, 2014, 10:06:44 PM
8 days NC. On the ninth I had to call to explain how to pick up money I had sent

for child support. (not court ordered, I just know they need some things)

She began to tell me about the hard time she was having, everyone getting on her nerves, etc.

I politely listened with minimal response. When she began to run out of breath I asked to talk to the kids.

I spoke with each one and then hung up. Five minutes later she called asking "whatsa matter

don't want to talk to me anymore" I said "I don't really know what we have to talk about right now"

HER: Oh really, how has your life been going? (in a very smart alecky tone)

ME: Very uneventful

HER: uneventful? DON'T EVER CALL ME AGAIN!   *click*

There was a time, not that long ago, when I would have almost immediately called back, either

in anger, or try to found out what is wrong. Last night, it barely affected me, but it did bother her.

Thirty minutes later... .phone rings

HER: what do mean uneventful? what have you been doing?

ME: Nothing but working hard, I did take the boat out and fish last Saturday

HER: I KNEW YOU WERE LIEING, I KNEW YOU HAVE BEEN DOING SOMETHING

ME: well, I didn't catch anything so it really was uneventful

HER: did you see any bikinis out there? DON'T EVER CALL ME AGAIN! *click*

For whatever its worth, she asked me the same bikini question last Feb. when it was 38 degrees outside.

The last call affected me less than the previous. Soon after, I laid down for the night,

almost immediately went into a nice peaceful sleep that lasted till the alarm buzzed.

I consider this some kind of win for me, not against her, but a win against myself in some way.

It's so hard to accept, but she is not going to change, so I have to.

I have to.
