Title: Mental pictures
Post by: yogibear60 on October 01, 2014, 12:56:00 PM
I certainly know how serious these matters are to each of us but I just can't help finding a bit of humor in my mental imagery of my mother.   :)I got two at the moment.

Picture a political cartoon -  I am dressed in complete military grab, heavy combat boots and full helmet, guns, knifes, hand grenades, all strapped to my uniform. (the basic Rambo look)  I am tearing through a fall and the caption is "over the river and through the woods to Mommies house I go"

The other is the famous scene from Star Wars.  I am Luke coming  face to face with Darth Vader, light sabers drawn.  "I am your mother, YogiBear"

Does anyone else have any mental pictures?  I don't mean any dis respect but something I just can't help but giggle.

Yogibear,

I really did chuckle at the picture of Rambo heading to mom's house!  :) Ah, how would we survive if we didn't have a bit of humor to get us through?

I have a friend that I meet with every month or so who also came from an abusive childhood. We often laugh at things that anyone not coming from abuse would be appalled to hear us say, yet we laugh just as I did at this picture. It's so true! The hurt is so great that the laughter eases the pain.

I don't have any mental pictures such as this but certainly enjoyed yours. Thank you for sharing it!

Well I didn’t have any mental pictures until you  brought the topic up lol. Now I’m picturing my mom on the toilet, my dad’s trousers around her ankles, running after the toilet roll, which is being pulled away by a hopping rabbit. Or a rabbit taking her wig off, and tap dancing on her head. Or a rabbit so big, that when it sits down on her, she disappears up its hole “down the rabbit hole Alice.” someone says. Or a meditating bear, you could say a Yogibear... .
