foremost, in my case, the knowledge that i wasn't wrong. i was very bad with this. i thought "what i'm seeing right in front of my eyes can't possibly be the case. i must be misunderstanding." but it was the case, and i wasn't misunderstanding, though the terms i used to understand it were not those of psychology. close second, the company of other posters.

Did you change something in real life too?
