Title: Not sure if it's me or my mom or both
Post by: nomoregarbage on October 26, 2014, 10:03:43 AM
Hello there group, i found this site and it gave such an outstanding article on depression I decided to research further and found this message board.  I would like to be able to discuss issues and i understand it is about BPD.  The main issues with my sadness is around my mother and my relationship.  I don't know if either one of us is BPD but I know for sure i have a long term case of depression.  Can you give me some input as to what the symptoms of BPD are and especially how adults with BPD reflect it to their adult children?  Thank you so much.

Hello Nomoregarbage  *welcome*

The following article will tell you more about BPD What is BPD (48 minute video) (https://bpdfamily.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/what-is-borderline-personality-disorder.html)

It would help to know more about what is difficult in the relationship between yourself and your mother. Certainly living with someone with BPD can lead to depression.

However relationship difficulties are rarely completely one-sided. On this site there is information to help learn more about BPD and to work on our own responses to reduce arguments and conflict. There is information on helpful ways to communicate to improve our relationships and to set boundaries when needed to protect ourselves.

Perhaps it would be helpful for you to listen to the video and come back to tell us what you think and to let us know a little more about your situation.

This is not to under-estimate how difficult it can be.

Please keep posting-there are people here who will understand and want to help
