Title: so far so good...
Post by: howcanI? on November 17, 2014, 09:18:34 AM
Well, moving day continues apace.  It is pouring, my movers have gotten very squirrelly about when they are getting here, my ankle is slowly getting better, and my beloved continues flying off into space every few minutes.  HOWEVER, I'm pretty proud of my efforts to do SET, and wander off when the extreme paranoia and rage set in.  Mirable dictu! it really does help.  Also, I talked at length with a dear friend last night who has been through this, and is wise in all things.  She suggested that disengagement take the form of mentally sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalalala."  This totally cracked me up, and as humor is one of my best tools for coping, I thought I'd share it.

Thought:  I'm VERY concerned with brothers and sisters here who report physical abuse!  Doesn't this go beyond merely dealing with a BPD?  Their behavior has crossed into life-threatening and criminal.  PLEASE get someplace safe and call the cops! Does allowing this constitute enabling?  Perhaps advice in this case is inappropriate and unwanted, but we do NOT want to lose anyone!
