Title: first post
Post by: monkeypaw7 on November 19, 2014, 08:12:35 PM
This is my first post. Been married to a BPD for 13 plus years. We have a child together who just turned 11 and I also have 2 children who live with us from my deceased wife. My wife decided about a year ago to stop taking her meds and my life has been a living hell since. Read the Walking on Eggshells book which has been helpful. We have been seeing a counselor for the past 6 months and I have been seeing a counselor on my own. Tired of the Jeckyl and Hyde. I am a very private man and posting on here is very uncomfortable for me and I feel a bit deceiving for posting here without her knowledge.  I am a hard working man who provides well for my family. I also know that I am a good husband and father. Tired of not getting respect and being set up to fall on my sword when things get out of hand. Keep getting threatened with divorce and would probably do it if there was not children involved. The most frustrating part is my wife is a good mother to the children. I just feel like a doormat and I can't do anything right. Don't have any friends left and feel alone.

Hello, monkeypaw7 &  *welcome*

I am truly sorry for the problems you are having, and I do know how hard it can be trying to understand and deal with a loved one with BPD. You are not alone anymore, monkeypaw7... .We are here for you

How old are your other children? How does your wife get along with all of them? I do know how difficult and frustrating and painful the Jeckyl and Hyde behavior can be, and something I think that will help you understand it better is if you check out the links to the right-hand side of this page. It's great that you have read "Stop Walking on Eggshells", and all of the information on this site is really very helpful in giving more information on how our BPD loved one's mind works, and what we can do to help make things better.

Again, I'd like to encourage you to check out all of the links to the right-hand side of this page, and this also would be helpful: When a partner, spouse or girlfriend has Borderline Personality Disorder (https://bpdfamily.com/portfolio-4-cols). There are several Feature Articles there with information that will enlighten you and give you food for thought... .I really encourage you to take the time to check out the information here, continue to tell us your story, and ask your questions. We're happy to help, monkeypaw7
