Hello, sailsailsailsail23 &  *welcome*

I'm so sorry for the troubles you have been dealing with regarding your son; it's really awful watching our children--even our adult children--self-destruct right before our very eyes and feeling like there is nothing we can do to help them. Has your son been diagnosed? Is he in any treatment at all? What are the symptoms and behaviors that are causing him (and you) so many problems?

I do have first-hand knowledge of effective Dual Diagnosis treatment for my own adult (37) son who completed a 21-day Intensive In-Patient Dual Diagnosis Program in April of 2013. This was the program that diagnosed him with BPD and saved his life with DBT Therapy and plan for his recovery. He is now 20 months clean and sober from a multi-year Heroin addiction, and is pretty much free of the BPD symptoms and behaviors that had caused him so much pain and so many troubles in his life. His story is here: My son's Dual Diagnosis Story (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=202562.0) and I think it would give you hope, sailsailsailsail23... .

Please take some time and read the links to the right-has side of this page; the TOOLS and THE LESSONS are very informational and can help you get a handle on what your son is going through, and what you can do to get a handle on dealing with him, and helping yourself. Also, there are links to Feature Articles (https://bpdfamily.com/portfolio-child) under the 4 photos at the top of the threads on this Board (Parenting a Child with BPD Board) that are very helpful also. Whether your son is already in any type of treatment or not, please read every one of those Articles for the good tips and information available in them.

Can you tell us more about your story? We want to help you, sailsailsail
