Title: a strange side effect of nc
Post by: Infern0 on December 16, 2014, 06:46:39 PM
During my year long association with my BPD ex I lost a total of 44 lbs.

Some of this was intentional as I had wanted to trim down a bit and at the start I was in the gym a lot and lost about 10lb but when devaluation kicked in I started to lose weight at an alarming rate.

Even after the worst passed and I was able to eat,  my metabolism was messed up and I just couldn't gain anything back.

Been NC for almost 2 weeks now and just hopped on the scales and lo and behold a gain of 7lbs.

Yes, emotional strife will find a way out somewhere, including physical ailments.  My shoulder seized up almost entirely when I was with her, it's where all the stress went, along with a bunch of weight loss, and it took a year after for my shoulder to heal and my body to stabilize.  Of course it was self imposed, and looking at why I stayed when my body was clearly telling me it wasn't doing me any good has been the main event since.
