Title: I really believe this website saved me
Post by: Left broken and confused on December 23, 2014, 10:17:59 AM
I just really want to express how thankful I am for all the support I receive from this site. I was just reminded how lucky I am to have found you all. My sister meet a man 4 months ago on a dating site and he out of no where stopped talking to her. I saw the warning signs from the minute they started dating but of course she didn't want to believe it. She is a mess this is her first relationship after a 30 year abusive marriage that her husband died 3 years ago.  She asked me how I am getting through my break up and I told her if it wasn't for the support of the members on this site I don't think I would make it through. Big thanks to everyone here

I am 100% with you on this one!

What warning signs did you see with your sister's new relationship?

From the beginning of the relationship she was giving him alot of gifts and always doing for him but he never gave anything back. The first night they spoke he told her he was falling in love with her and quickly spoke about moving in together and getting married. He would go for a day or 2 and not even call or text her. Last sign was she was not allowed to express her feelings he would get very angry if she tried to talk about how she was feeling.  It was all about him and now he won't even answer a call or text from her.

Dang!

And so many of us have put up with those oddities of behavior and said "well, that's a man for you" when they don't want to hear how a woman feels. But then when we see they are all about sharing what they think we oughta see that    And I hope I do from here on out!

Non-reciprocal relationship =

There will absolutely be a moment of clarity when you know it's time. I had been saying to a couple of friends for a few months, "how much longer can I deal with this?" but clarity said "NOW." at just the right time. You'll get there.
