Title: Reminders of the temper rages:little rubber bumpers in door jambs
Post by: ogopogodude on December 27, 2014, 09:26:53 PM
Does anyone come across little reminders of the  temper tantrum rage & chaos that used to happen?  As I was cleaning today, ... .I stopped as I was going thru the master bedroom doorway and started to laugh (to myself) at something so minor but yet soo major (at the time).

I can remember I used to "hide" (from others, or make excuses for) the nutty behaviour of my undiagnosed-BPD-wife until one day I just had had enough and let her behaviour bury herself.

Anyways, ... today I looked at my door jamb today & there they were, ... like vertical row of soldiers of a time gone by: little bumpers that I bought from the dollar store.  My wife was/is a door slammer during her episodes.  And I can remember putting these little cushions all around the door jamb where the door meets the door jamb.

This reaaaallllly buffered the sound of a slamming door.  I was so proud of myself when I softened the sound of door slamming just by doing this little project.

Anyone else did this?

(I am expecting a whole bunch of you members saying to yourself ... ." yeah... .I did that, too... .all the certain doors that he/she used to slam, I placed those little sound bumpers" ... .)

I wish I had thought of that!
