I genuinely didn't expect it from her. Thought it would have triggered her negatively. We've been NC for a little over a month now. No, I didn't get the more intimate b-day text that would be more common of someone who just a few months ago was your self proclaimed "soul mate" and would be too jealous to even so much as think of you with another woman, (then she cheated on me lol) but it was a semi- sweet one on Facebook. What do you think this means, if anything?

Probably just keeping tabs on you and your birthday presented an excellent opportunity to do so in way that would not appear too "what the heck is she contacting me for?"  So I would say it is curiousity and wanting to test the waters to see how attached you still are.

Fortunately I will never have to worry about mine contacting me for my birthday.  He doesn't care and I am honestly sure that he no longer remembers when my birthday is.

She is probably testing for an attachment.  If you respond it will confirm there is still an attachment, whether your response is negative or positive.

Well I don't plan on responding directly to her through text or fb or anything. I just posted a status thanking everyone for their birthday wishes, like I do every year. It was very up beat, ambitious, and forward looking. Good move?

Can't believe I forgot about this.  Mine send his ex a happy birthday e-mail last year (2014).  That was 4 years after the break up.  Incredible.  She's more than moved on with her life, but he is still holding on. I wonder if he had been counting the days to her birthday so he'd have an excuse to contact her?  Probably did.
