Title: How aware are they of their self destruction Post by: ropend on January 08, 2015, 10:31:49 PM My sibling managed to say the same thing three times in three minutes knowing full well it would offend the person she was speaking to.
Or did she not know? Are they this clueless? Title: Re: How aware are they of their self destruction Post by: Rapt Reader on January 09, 2015, 09:14:19 AM When this happens with my own BPD loved ones, I find that it is different than just cluelessness.
It seems to be that in the mental state--or zone?--they are in at the time of the offensive comments, it all makes perfect sense to them and feels true and real, given their perceptions of reality at that time. I doubt that they are even thinking of the fallout of their comments, or how it will be taken by the object of their remarks.
