Title: hypomania / elevated state
Post by: SlyQQ on January 16, 2015, 09:22:25 AM
Just wondered how often other people had to cope, and how with there partners elevated moods ( sleeping less shoping sprees etc ) as opposed to when they are down, an did they in general last a while before subsiding ( with ofcourse the normal ups and downs )

I think this would happen from time to time when she felt she needed something new to do (hobby/interest). While it was essentially a good thing, it would soon take up all her time and then she wouldn't sleep + lose interest in everything else.

If someone mentioned this she just flip. It became a super sensitive subject; "I know, but don't mention it!".

She was diagnosed bipolar, but the diagnosis was later revised. The "hypomanias" were more of a behavioral pattern. She was too aware, and these periods came from boredom, not out of "nowhere".
