Hi sally725

Having a child with BPD isn't easy and can take quite a toll on you so I understand why you might feel at your wits end. I am sorry you're having to deal with this difficult situation but I'm glad you're reaching out for support here.

Could you tell us a bit more about your daughter? What signs of BPD does she display?

How long was your daughter in hospital and what preceded her involuntary institutionalization? Has she perhaps been diagnosed with anything while she was there?

What is baker acted?

Baker acted: involuntary institutionalization and examination under the Florida Mental Health Act of 1971, also known as the Baker Act.

Hi sally725,

Welcome to bpdfamily and this supportive community of parents who have a child with BPD. It can feel overwhelming to learn about BPD, but also provide some relief as the fog of confusion starts to clear. Was it the hospitalization that led you to discover BPD?

What is your relationship with your D46 like? I hope you're finding some help in the lessons and materials here.
