But there is one thing that I am starting to see. We are SURVIVORS. We were not defeated. And we will not be defeated. We refuse to be broken by this disorder. It will not defeat us. One of the most valuable lessons my ex partner with BPD traits is accepting of how things are and whom she is. Whereas I was resistant, non accepting and took her behaviors personal. I think a part of being a survivor is letting go, learn about the disorder to make sense, depersonalize the disorder and work on ourselves and relationship patterns. I don't think it's so much about thinking about defeated but growth and become soft instead of rigid and hard. Excerpt “Water is fluid, soft, and yielding.
