Title: Found this to be kind of funny Post by: stntylr on March 23, 2015, 05:35:24 PM Was watching a show on TV when I saw a preview of a scene from a upcoming TV series that my actress ex and I where in where she played a naked dead body and I was a clothed dead body.
I just about burst out laughing seeing her there. For all her bragging about being a big star I'm pretty sure this was her highest paid role. The day we shot that scene was the day where later that night she told me she loved me and kissed me. Since we are both married it caught me by surprise. I guess seeing her on TV breaks the NO Contact rule but I really do feel like I'm beginning to move on. There are times that limited contact has helped me ascertain where I'm at in my healing. If I have a 0 to 60 mph response I know I need to do more work! The kind of detached, humored response you describe has always felt like a good sign to me. Maybe seeing both of us lying dead on the ground is some kind of metaphor for where this mutual destructive behavior towards each other is going to end. I know she really can't help it. It's part of who she really is but I can stop and move on. The No Contact rule has stopped me from falling into the trap of letting her destroy me any more or me trying to get back at her for hurting me so much. That's the exact reason for n/c - it's all about protecting yourself and healing. |
