Title: today there is peace
Post by: Rockylove on April 10, 2015, 06:12:08 PM
I'm certain that these fights we have are eroding our relationship, but for today I have peace.  He's gone with his friends to a concert and is spending the night with them.  My sister coerced me into getting out of my pajamas and meeting her for lunch... .then she paid for an hour long massage for me!  I feel peaceful and content.

The best part of him going with his friends is that they don't let him get away with any crap and he took the wheel chair and quad cane that he'd been resisting (for a very stupid reason).  He even kissed me before he left.  Go figure.

Respite is very good for carers of anyone, and often overlooked.

Was he looking forwards to this?

I feel like I haven't had nearly enough respite, waverider.  I think he was anxious about going for a number of reasons.  His friend kinda blew in and grabbed him and his stuff and took him!  LOL  I think it was good that he didn't have a chance to think about not going.  He never wants to do anything or go anywhere.  He needed this as much as I did.  I slept well last night, did yoga this morning (which I've not done since his stroke) and I'm doing some gardening.  I feel very relaxed.  Hard to believe that having him gone for 24 hours would feel this good~~I almost feel guilty that I'm enjoying it!

  Awesome day!

Is there anything you can pull in regularly from this kind of day to help yourself? Like resuming yoga regularly?
