Title: Had to Laugh at Myself
Post by: milesperhour on April 11, 2015, 07:40:27 PM
Started therapy yesterday.  I told my T that I was afraid that I would not find a job because I have been fired five times.  She asked, "Could that be because you have a problem with authority figures?"  I was stunned.  "Yeah ... .maybe ... .heh" and gave her a "How the h*** did you know that?" look.  And I was thinking, "How dare you critizise me!  Why should I listen to you anyway?  Just because you have a masters in psychology?  And I am NOT in denial; why does everybody keep saying that?  I'll bet you think I am paranoid too, don't you?"   :)

It reminded me of the old Psychiatric Hotline joke: "For OCD: press 1, press 1, press 1, press 1 ... .For paranoia: Just hang up.  We know who you are; we know where you live ... ."   lol
