Title: What is your goal for the day?
Post by: Sunfl0wer on April 16, 2015, 07:55:15 AM
Hey guys,

Yesterday I was so depressed, in a mental fog.

Today I really want to stay focused.  There is a time and a place for my grieving and experiencing my pain, and also for staying aware and involved in my life, not just my emotions.

So in hopes of letting my intentions be known to the universe, and for me to be accountable... .

My goal for today is to get through my work day today and the schedule I have made, with minimal sidetracking.

That's it.  I just need simple for today.

I'll check in tonight and report how I did.

(Even if no one else reads... . I will feel accountable to me and this promise... . so I'll see how that works)

Feel free to jump in and share what will work for you today!

~Sunflower

I'm going to work. Stay away from fast food and keep eating healthy. Stay away from alcohol. Then go to sleep. Tomorrow I shall do the same.

Sunflower thank you for posting a positive message.

It reminded me that sometimes when we are feeling not so great, that just focusing on one very small thing, is a worthy and useful thing to do :).

How did you go today?

What's your goal for tomorrow?

Humm, eating healthy and less alcohol... . Good goals!  I need to work on that too.

I did well, I got sidetracked a bit when I took a lunch break a bit longer... . but I think yesterday I had my first really full day at work as usual. (Worked 9-7). But since it has been a while, it felt like 12hrs... .had me beat!   :)

Thanks Parisian!   :). Today, I need to make progress on my apartment search.  That is my scary goal... . really stresses me out and makes me want to crawl into bed.  So I'll consider myself successful so long as I do something towards it.

My goal = not to cry.

Yup had many days like that. My counsellor told me to schedule cry time. Write it in my book 8-815 AM cry... .12:15 - 12:30 cry... .6:45- 7:00 cry

It helped because I could manage to hold off until the assigned times and therefore work and drive and function (sort of) etc.

I'm current feeling nervous about what is ahead for me.

I enjoy reading the positive actions and thoughts of others here.  I can get stuck in negative patterns of thinking.  It is helpful to see hope and big and small steps in how others are processing working on positive things.  (Working on reflecting about the r/s seems more autopilot, whereas, looking forward ahead or where I am feels like effort). So thank you all for sharing!   |iiii

I feel like I am getting so much out of therapy and definitely getting my time and monies worth.

I shared with him how I had a very depressive episode last week.

He suggested that, " I simply lacked the words."

He mentioned CBT and I believe that he was referring to the words I tell myself that keep me in that dark place.

So my goals today... .

*To be aware of the thoughts I tell myself.  To notice how these thoughts serve me.

*Continue working on mindfulness and wisemind.  Has anyone else taken a year to get this to feel like autopilot?

My therapist keeps asking me what my goals are for therapy.  I told him I was confused as I felt strongly that I answered this to him several times, and clearly. He is excellent, and is trying to probe me for something, humm.  I guess I will keep thinking more about what it is I want.

Sunf,

Thanks for putting a new spin on things.

My goal for today is to get my offer signed and work out.

I love setting goals and know that writing them helps you to accomplish them.

Thanks, I will check in later and let you know if I achieved it. Have a great day!

My goal was to go to work

I shall add to that and not kill anyone who ticks me off. I am not in a very happy work place and it is getting to me.

Oh, I hope you can find peace at work, even if it is in your mind alone in the bathroom for a short period of time!

I've made a list of things I've wanted to do but never done them. I've taken the easiest which is mentoring. I overheard a colleague saying they do it at a local highschool with a charity, so I have emailed them for a coffee meeting to see if they can help me. Doing something for others (in a healthy way)

This is a good thread. I like to positive vibe.

Today, I'm heading to work. There's going to be downtime so I plan on using it to write a little and get some ideas for this Choose-Your-Own-Adventure thing I started for my niece (It's a Cyberpunk action story, and I already have a page or two written.)

Then after work I'm resolving to hit the gym. Yesterdays workout was good, but I wanna crush it today.

Gonna walk my dog and make sure he's happy, also going to hit the store and buy him some more food.

Then I'll check back here.

It was exhausting because I worked so hard to get it all done but goals for yesterday and today! Plus, I was able to work out which always helps. This is a great thread. Makes me think positive instead of negative. Thanks Sunf.

1. Wake up and not feel sad.

2. Go to the gym and work out until I no longer feel frustrated.

3. Go to work and be productive and positive.

4. Go to the grocery store.

4 modest goals. Wash, rinse, repeat tomorrow only 4. will be different.
