Title: My only adult daughter has BPD
Post by: cacostaniki on April 23, 2015, 09:26:21 AM
Hello, I am just so glad I have found this site. My computer is not working, its hard for me to navigate through with my cell phone. I feel completely drained. My daughter leaves me out of her life and has also kept me away from my only granddaughter.  My health has declined because of dealing with this. My daughter is now 39. She started to show BPD since 12 years of age.

Hi cacostaniki,

I'm sorry you are so distraught over the loss of your relationship with your daughter and having no contact with your granddaughter.

Has something happened to cause this or is this a long standing pattern of behavior by your daughter?

How old is your granddaughter now?

Hello, cacostaki... .I also would like to know more about what sparked this behavior from your daughter and how old your granddaughter is. Have you ever seen her? Or, is this separation from your granddaughter (and daughter) new?

I also was not "allowed" to see my first grandchild, when very young, and what I learned from reading on this site helped me bridge that rocky river with my Daughter-In-Law, to the point where the estrangement lasted a few months, and then was bridged, and now things are good between us and I see my grandchild fairly regularly.

Please let us know more about your situation so we can help, cacostaniki,
