Title: Child needs residential treatment
Post by: Adoptivemomtx on April 24, 2015, 08:56:11 PM
Hello

I am an adoptive parent. After 8 years living with a child with anger issues, mood swings, manipulation, tantrums and rages a psychologist told me my teen has emerging traits of BPD. I wish I had known years ago. I am seeking residential treatment. I've heard dialectical behavior therapy is best. Does anybody have any recommendations for type of treatment and place?

Hi Adoptivemomtx,

We are glad to have you here looking for information that will help your daughter.  How old is she?  Has she been in DBT outpatient before?

Having a teen with this disorder is very painful... .how are you coping?

I have had a very successful RTC experience for my teen daughter and would be happy to share what I learned from the experience.

I look forward to seeing you back again.
