Title: BPDX's Overlapping
Post by: runningup on May 03, 2015, 04:54:49 AM
Im interested to know how many of you have experienced a BPDX that overlaps relationships? Mine, well she cheated on me, and moved in with the guy 1 week later, and didnt seem like a shock in reality being that all the relationships I know of that she has had, have all involved about the exact same pattern. There is never a break, or period of reflection, its just cheat and replace.

How long do you think this new one will last? Its been 2 mths now.

Hi Runningup

My exes relationships overlapped and I think many others here have a similar experience.

I would add though, this behaviour is hardly unique to BPD.

I think there are lots of NONs who go directly from one relationship to another without ever really spending much time on their own.

I think it's very understandable to question this when we feel betrayed and discarded, but the length of your replacements relationship with your ex can vary hugely depending on the two people involved and the dynamics of their particular relationship.

There is broad spectrum of experience out there that's reflected in the different stories of members

Some BPD relationships last for a long time and some last for just months or even weeks

Some people stay in unhealthy relationships for years. I did. Its longevity didn't mean that either me or my ex were happy.

I suppose the question is whether the relationship is healthy or not? And whether being in it would be healthy for you?
