looking for any advice on successful RTC for my daughter. Heard about McLean Hospital adolescent DBT program lasts 2 months is that long enough? Is a year long boarding school for BPD a better option?

Hello janparent,

We are happy to have you here with us on the Parent's Board.  I'm sorry to hear that your d16 has BPD, been there and done that.

Has your daughter been participating in outpatient therapy for long?  Do you know what kind of therapy she has been engaging in and has she shown progress?

Short term RTC/Inpatient care can offer skills learning, medication management and testing.  I personally don't believe that short term (90 days or less) are going to affect lasting positive change unless the patient is completely invested and continues with IOP (Intensive Out Patient) therapy and remains completely invested.  Is your d16 wanting to do inpatient therapy?
