Title: I'm new and a parent of a 20 year old daughter with BPD and OCD
Post by: Enough318 on May 18, 2015, 06:18:35 PM
HI,

I am new to this group, or any group, for BPD. I'm having an extremely hard time right now with my daughter. No one I know really understands BPD and I don't really have anyone to talk to but my older daughter and I am wary of dumping on her.

Hi Enough318,

*welcome*

I completely relate when you say no one really understands BPD... .except those who deal with a family member actually suffering from BPD. So you are definitely in the right place for those who understand.

Does she live with you?

Hi and welcome!

Keep coming back and study and read and listen to videos.  They have helped me soo much.  It takes time, it is slow and feels hopeless at times, but is really never hopeles.  My son is 26 and just got assessed.  He has to go to his therapy once a week and learn the DBT skills.  Miracles can happen, him being assessed was a miracle.  So keep praying and hoping and learning. He has BPD, obsessive compusive personality, and ptsd.

Your are not alone here and people do understand here!  Kelti1972

Hi Enough318,

I'm glad you are here.

Having someone who gets it to talk to is priceless.

Don't lose hope. About a year ago I came to found this site and it has completely changed me for the better.  I spent time with the tools and lessons you will find here.  I worked on myself and how I was dealing with my daughter.  A year ago, things were absolutely awful for our family and my BPD daughter, today she and all of us are doing unbelievably well.  It can get better, best wishes you are not alone.
